Editorial introduction

One of the most exciting opportunities I will be engaging in during the latter half of the calendar year of 2019, while moving into the journal year of 2020, is that of attending and presenting at the World Association for Sexual (WAS) Health. WAS will be taking place this October in Mexico City, Mexico. This opportunity came about in the context of an invitation from Pink Therapy to serve as a member of a panel entitled, “Reflections from the Rainbow.” For this invitation and related opportunity, I am honored, humbled, and grateful.

My role on the panel is to present a tool for assessing intersectional queerness–the Gender, Sexual, Erotic, and Relational Diversity (GSERD) Matrix (Twist, Citation2018, Citation2019). In addition, I will also be sharing two measures—the Cisgenderism Measure (Ansara, Twist, VandenBosch, & Miller, 2018) and the Monogamism Measure (Twist, Prouty, Haym, & VandenBosch, Citation2018)—that my colleagues/co-authors and I published as part of a Sexual and Relationship Therapy (SRT) Editorial for a Special Issue on GSERD. While at the conference, I will also share about the journal and its significance, as well as the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) with colleagues from around the globe.

There will be more to share from WAS in the next issue. In the interim, this first issue of volume 35 of SRT focuses on a range of interesting and informative topics. Some of the topics of focus include, but are not limited to sexual well-being, polyamory, sexual coercion, infertility, the interdependence between relationship and sexual satisfaction, and various assessment/measurement tools.
