Editorial introduction

As this issue–our third issue of our 39th volume of the journal of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (SRT)—publishes, the organization that houses the journal, the College of Sexual and Relational Therapists (COSRT), will have just hosted their online 2024 Summer Conference, “Fostering Healthy Intimacy and Relationships Through Young Adulthood: How Can Psychosexual and Relationship Therapies Help?” This conference also aligns topically with the recent call for papers for our SRT special issue on contemporary queer youth by Guest Editor, Dr. Allen Mallory. In part then, this special issue looks to bring together those professionally connecting at this conference, and/or those currently writing on, doing clinical work with, and conducting research into queer youth (people aged 27 or younger) gender, sexuality, eroticism, and relational diversity in an applied research or therapeutic context. The deadline for abstract submissions is July 31, 2024 and the abstract is to be no longer than 200 words and no less than 150 words (full papers due by November of 2024 at the latest). Informal enquiries and abstract submissions should be directed to: Dr. Allen Mallory at [email protected].

This current issue is a standard issue, however, as it happens, some of the articles in this issue have already gained quite a bit of attention via open-access and/or through the early online housing on the journal’s website hosted by the publisher, Taylor and Francis (see: Gossner et al., Citation2022; Kelleher & Murphy, Citation2022; Kubota & Nakazawa, Citation2022; McEvoy et al., Citation2021; McMahan et al.; Citation2023; Mignault et al., Citation2022; Trexler, Citation2021). We, at the journal, encourage you to check out not only these popular pieces, but, of course, the issue in full, as well as the COSRT 2024 Summer Conference, and to submit to SRT for our special issue on contemporary queer youth by Guest Editor, Dr. Allen Mallory.
