Notes on contributors
Hans J. Ladegaard studied at Odense University, Denmark, and Cambridge University, England. Prior to his present post as Professor in the Department of English at Hong Kong Baptist University, he taught at universities in Denmark and the UK. His research interests include ICC, language attitudes and stereotypes, language and gender, and narratives of migration, and he has published widely on these issues in books and international journals. He is co-editor and review editor of Pragmatics and Society (John Benjamins).
Christopher J. Jenks, Assistant Professor of English and ESL/TESOL Coordinator, is the author and co-editor of several books, including an edited collection on second language learning that was runner-up for the 2011 British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL) Book Award. His previous places of employment include Konkuk University (Seoul, Korea), Newcastle University (England) and the City University of Hong Kong. His research interests include ICC, world Englishes, English as a lingua franca and social identities, including race and ethnicity relations in education. He is currently working on a book that explores race in the English language teaching profession in South Korea.
