Anna Goebel
Anna Goebel was born in Katowice in 1951. She studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Poznań from 1972‒1977. She graduated with an MA diploma from the studio of professor Magdalena Abakanowicz and from the Architecture Studio of professor Jan Węcławski. Since 1977 she has been teaching at the Academy (currently University of Arts) at the Faculty of Painting, Graphic and Sculpture. In 1990 she became a head at the Textile Art Studio and became a full professor in 1995. She creates spatial compositions, objects, and also deals with ephemeric open-air activities, paper art. She has presented her works in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad (Europe, USA, Canada, Argentine, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, Australia). Among others they include: the 15th International Biennial of Textiles Lausanne, International Triennial of Textile Art, Łódź “Soft Sculpture,” Nagoya, International Textile Competition, Kyoto, International Exhibition “Flexible 2,” Tilburg, Manchester, International Biennial Exhibition of Contemporary Fibre Art, Pittsburgh, “Material Matters,” Cheongju International Biennial, South Korea, “Matrix Nature,” Como, “In Between,” and International Paper Art, Beer- Sheva, Israel.
