Abstract

The phenomenon of the Millennial generation illustrates a tendency of mobile, flexible, tech-savvy, achievement-oriented, and prone to job-hopping groups. This suggests a provision of space, created to facilitate their common characteristics as an issue. Described as narcissistic, instant, confident, and mobile; this “Me Me Me generation” attitudes tendency shall not be only seen as a problem. Instead, the research shall aim this topic as an opportunity to design a more elastic, flexible, and fluid space for Millennials, despite less precise boundaries that demarcate generation X, Y, and Z. This paper utilizes a bibliographical method to construct a portable architecture theory by highlighting relationships between body, interior and architecture. The research is accompanied by an experimental design method to create a mobile space that functions effectively and efficiently as a daily product for Indonesian Millennials, rather than creating an alien. As a result, a fashion interior is developed as a hybrid alternative for Indonesian Millennials, constructing a new generation of portable architecture.
