Abstract
The paper considers the literature on the assessment of clients in regard to their suitability for person-centered therapy and the relationship between assessment and diagnosis. It goes on to describe a small, qualitative study comparing the thinking of person-centered therapists and psychodynamic therapists on assessment, and offers a formative person-centered theory on client assessment.
Zusammenfassung
Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit der Literatur zur „Beurteilung” von Klientinnen und Klienten, was ihre Eignung für Personzentrierte Therapie betrifft und die Beziehung zwischen Indikation und Diagnose. Im Weiteren beschreibt er eine kleine qualitative Studie, die das Denken Personzentrierter und psychodynamischer Therapeutinnen und Therapeuten bezüglich Indikation vergleicht, und bietet eine formative personzentrierte Theorie über Indikation und die Beurteilung von Klienten.
Resumen
El artículo considera la literatura sobre la evaluación de consultantes en lo que respecta a su adecuación a la terapia centrada en la persona y a la relación entre evaluación y diagnóstico. Asimismo, describe un pequeño estudio cualitativo que compara la manera de pensar de terapeutas centrados en la persona y terapeutas psicodinámicos sobre la evaluación y el diagnóstico y ofrece una teoría centrada en la persona sobre la evaluación de consultantes.
