Editorial note
Below are two additional responses to our forum on translation studies and the ideology of conquest. The author of the original position piece, Vicente L. Rafael, has also kindly provided a “response to the responses”, which appears immediately following to wrap up this particular discussion. Nonetheless, the editors, as always, would welcome full-fledged articles that take this debate in new directions.
A new forum on translation and material culture will begin in issue 9.1.
