Notes on contributor

Dónal Hassett is Lecturer in French at University College Cork. He holds a PhD in History from the European University Institute in Florence. His monograph, Mobilizing Memory: The Great War and the Language of Politics in Colonial Algeria, 1918-1939, will appear in August 2019 with Oxford University Press. His principal research interests include French colonial history, the history of Algeria, anti-colonialism, and veterans’ history. He is the Irish representative on the Management Committee of the European Cost Action “People in Motion: Entangled Histories of Displacement across the Mediterranean (1492–1923)”.
