Abstract
Metadislocations are a novel type of structural defect in complex metallic alloys. We present an experimental characterization of metadislocation loops in ξ′-Al–Pd–Mn by means of transmission electron microscopy. Furthermore we discuss the mode of metadislocation motion (glide vs. climb) and the geometrical structure of metadislocations in other orthorhombic complex metallic alloys.
