Abstract
The diffusion of 86Rb in potassium has been measured at six temperatures between 0°c and the melting point of potassium. The diffusion coefficients are given by the equation :
D=0·090±0·028 exp (—8·78±0·18/RT) cm2 sec−1
where the activation energy is in kcal. mol.−1. The results are briefly discussed in terms of current theories of impurity diffusion by vacancies.
