Classical singlet distribution function g(1)(z) for the liquid–vapour density transition

Abstract

A modified form of the singlet Yvon–Born–Green equation appropriate to the anisotropic transition zone at the surface of liquid argon is evaluated numerically. The transition profile at the triple point shows that a discrete shoulder develops in contrast to the widely reported monotonic liquid–vapour density transition.
