Abstract
The magnetic susceptibility of α-monoclinic, trigonal, and amorphous selenium has been measured from room temperature down to 40°K. All the susceptibilities were diamagnetic and temperature-independent. The amorphous value coincides, within experimental error, to the average of the monoclinic and trigonal values.
