Abstract

Observation of a bidimensional crystal of dislocation lines in sodium chloride

In single crystalline NaCl crept at high temperature, we have observed a hexagonal lattice of etch-pits corresponding to a bidimensional crystal of dislocation lines. It is proposed that the type of crystal and its parameter depend on the shape and size of the cell which encloses the dislocations.
