Abstract
Measurements of the tracer diffusion of Be2+ into single-crystal magnesium oxide have been made over the temperature range 636°-2340°c using a serial sectioning techniqueResults can be described by a single Arrhenius equation, namely
wherek is Boltzmann's constant and errors are derived from a least squares analysis of the data. It is suggested that Be2+ may diffuse in MgO by an interstitial mechanism.
