Abstract

The structure factors of the liquid alkaline earth metals (Ca, Sr, Ba) have been determined by X-ray diffraction at two temperatures above their melting points. The structure factors obtained were temperature-insensitive. The atomic radial distribution function has been evaluated and hence the interatomic distance and the coordination number of each metal have been obtained.
