Umberto Eco

Umberto Eco is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Bologna (Italy) where for many years he was the Director of programs in Semiotics and in Communications. Since the 1950s, he has published numerous influential essays as well as acclaimed novels, children's books, and scholarly books on a wide range of topics. He has written numerous well-known accounts of Semiotics and its importance in the study of literature, popular culture, communication/media, and various other practices.
