Mariam Makramalla

Dr Makramalla is an Assistant Professor at NewGiza University, where she has been a faculty member since July 2021. She holds a PhD in Mathematics Education from the University of Cambridge and an MA in International and Comparative Education from the American University in Cairo. Her research interests relate to questions of contextualising curricular transfer across cultural borders, particularly in relation to problem solving as a learning asset in mathematics school curricula. She has also been involved in setting up and leading her own educational social venture that raises societal awareness about the role and importance of schooling in Egypt.
