Abstract
Marine geodesy accounts for a significant part of the activities of the French Naval Hydrographic and Oceanographic Office (SHOM). SHOM main fields of interest are bathymetry, marine gravimetry, and positioning. This paper reviews recent research undertaken at or sponsored by SHOM, and highlights some of the results obtained in these three areas. The advent of remote sensing techniques is one of the prominent features of this research.
