Unusual β-Elimination of Carbocyclic Ketonucleosides Catalyzed by Silica Gel

Abstract

β-elimination reactions occurred when carbocyclic ketonucleosides were treated with silica gel and α,β-unsaturated ketonucleosides were obtained. The positions of ketone groups did not affect the occurrance of the elimination reaction. The yields of the reaction were influenced by the properties of leaving groups.
