Abstract

The synthesis of the α- and β-anomers of 2′,3′-dideoxy-3′-fluoro-2-thiouridine and 2′,3′-dideoxy-3′-fluoro-2-thiothymidine via Lewis acid catalysed nucleoside condensation is described. High resolution ¹H NMR data, solution conformations and biological properties are also presented.
