Abstract
Many industrial hygienists attempting to learn ventilation design find the equivalent foot method confusing. The velocity pressure method is clear in concept, but to many students the velocity pressure method calculation sheets commonly available are difficult to use. The author presents a modified velocity pressure calculation sheet and a simplified table for determining friction loss in straight ducts.
