Abstract

Methacrylates and acrylates are traditionally polymerized by free-radical techniques. This can be carried out in a variety of media and is applicable to a wide range of functionalized methacrylates. The versatility of this synthetic route has been exploited for industrial purposes. ranging from bulk polymerized optically transparent materials to paints and surface coatings.
