Magnet Again! Librarian's Role in Research Collaboration to Maintain Magnet Status

Pages 72-81 | Published online: 08 Sep 2008

ABSTRACT

This article describes the evolution of the involvement of the librarians at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network (LVHHN) in collaborating with nursing leadership in the process of Magnet Recognition over a four-year time period and two Magnet applications. The librarians assume four major roles in the process: as consultants to nursing researchers, as content providers, as educators and as researchers. Tips for librarian participation in Magnet initiatives are outlined.

This article is based on a poster and handout, Magnet Again! Librarian's Role in Collaboration to Maintain Magnet Status: Demonstrating the Commitment to Supporting Evidence Based Practice (EBP) created for presentation at the One Hundred and Seventh Annual Meeting of the Medical Library Association, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, May 18–23, 2007. http://www.mlanet.org/am/am2007/e-present/20070521_30_iobst.pdf
