Disasters and Libraries: A Short Story

Pages 335-337 | Published online: 06 Aug 2009

Abstract

Damage to any Library is a great loss. In recent years, everything from 9/11 to huge storms and earthquakes have shown us that nothing is safe. Portsmouth Regional Hospital had a small Library disaster compared to other disasters. But, the Librarian learned a lot about recovery from damage and shares the experience in this article. The California Preservation Foundation Web site can help Librarians plan for a disaster—large and small.
