Abstract

The Patient and Family Education Committee of Hackensack University Medical Center and the Samuel and Sandra Hekemian Medical Library worked together to design and implement a database of patient education materials. The goal of the project was to use the customizations available in the Medical Library's new Integrated Library System to centralize and thereby increase access to patient education materials throughout the institution. This paper discusses the collaboration between the two groups, as well as the technical details of the project.

The authors wish to acknowledge Stephanie Kip for her assistance with this project.
