Abstract

In reality, it is a fine line between a strongly performing library and a dwindling library budget; library funding cuts can literally decimate a journal budget. Libraries, therefore, must reach out to current and potential users and up the ante in library promotion. This article describes the system of setting up and subsequently delivering and evaluating electronic tables of contents (e-TOCs) from the libraries' current journal subscriptions and accessible online titles. This system was started once it became apparent that the library needed to approach our customers with resources that can actually “help and supply” rather than waiting for customers to “need” us.
