Health Sciences Resource Selection Guides: A Comparative Review

Abstract

Hospital librarians have to make hard collection development decisions. What is the history and derivation of four current selection guides? How do they compare in authority, format, purpose, intended audience, scope, arrangement, special features, currency, and cost? This review brings all of this together in one place and makes suggestions for hospital librarians.
