Abstract

Identification and coverage of information needs of hospital personnel during an austerity period was the aim of this study. Scholarly publications of Greek hospital personnel between 1985 and 2013 from MEDLINE database were collected and analyzed. Analysis showed that Greek physicians were publishing in the scientific literature as an effect of intense clinical practice. The objective of the study was to obtain support for information needs resulting from that clinical practice, arguing for an appropriate budget allocation (while avoiding budget waste) from the administrative board of the hospital.
