ABSTRACT

Solo librarians in both clinical and academic institutions face growing institutional demands to publish original research in librarianship. Solo health sciences librarians can meet this need by growing their research network and developing a plan for effective research collaboration. The objective of this column is to provide an example of successful collaboration that led to increased research output by two solo librarians. By developing a professional research network, librarians will grow their support systems as they progress along their research agendas, in addition to increasing their professional confidence. Overall, this column seeks to demonstrate that, though the objective is to build a robust research network, it is less about the number of collaborators one works with and more about building a network of those people who work well with you.
