Probability Distribution Development in Distribution System Reliability Evaluation

Pages 907-916 | Published online: 30 Nov 2010

Abstract

Conventional distribution system reliability evaluation is focused on the determination of average loadpoint andsystem reliability indices. The actual annual reliability performance of a distribution system is, however, a random variable with an associated probability distribution. This paper illustrates the development of the average reliability indices and their probability distributions for a small test system. The probability distribution can provide useful information on customer impacts and considerations in a deregulated power market.
