We are all aware of the essential role reviewers play in journal publishing. The editorial boards of the National Communication Association’s publications do a majority of this fine and difficult work. However, there are times, especially in helping guest editors develop special issues, when we editors must call on those not holding membership on our editorial boards. Because my time as editor of Review of Communication has been built from the beginning on a unique program of special issues, I have perhaps asked more than is customary for reviews from those not on the masthead.
Please allow me to acknowledge and express thanks to those who have served as reviewers for the journal between July 2017 and July 2018. Your labor has helped produce a keen second volume, including special issues on Academic Labor (18.2) and Critical Discourse Studies (18.3). Without you, we would have been lost.
With gratitude,
Ramsey Eric Ramsey
