Pages 1-13 | Published online: 17 Jan 2007

Abstract

This is the third, and final, paper in a trilogy of articles describing and discussing the tenure policies and practices of institutional members in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. The first article in the series introduced the topic of tenure in American Christian colleges and universities. The second article summarized findings from a study designed to ascertain the tenure policies and practices of member institutions in the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. This article addresses (a) how many and what kinds of CCCU schools do not grant tenure, (b) why and on what basis tenure is not granted, and (c) what faculty retention systems are implemented by these CCCU schools.
