A review of "The Purposeful Graduate: Why Colleges Must Talk to Students about Vocation," by Tim Clydesdale

Notes

1In a recent Inside Higher Ed article, Clydesdale does supply a definition:

Vocation [is] the broadest possible exploration of the ideas of purpose, meaning and calling, including these ideas’ religious underpinnings. To some, exploring vocation means listening to the voice within. To others, it means hearing humanity's call to compassion and justice. And to still others, it means de- voting one's resources and skills to the service of God and humankind. (Flaherty, 2015, p. 2).
