Abstract
The reaction rate between hexadecylamine with fullerene is measured by a simple method for different temperatures and mole ratios of hexadecylamine to C60. Zero-order rate law can be assumed for the product formation in this reaction. The mole ratio of the amine:fullerene is optimized in terms of the conversion rate of C60. The reaction rate is slower than that expected for a simple collision between C60 and the amine. Temperature dependence of the reaction rate is determined and the activation energy is also estimated.
