Abstract

Proton irradiation effects on magnetic properties of hard carbon were investigated by magnetic force microscopy. Two different, oxygen‐free and oxygen‐rich, graphite‐like hard carbon targets were prepared by high pressure‐high temperature treatment of C₆₀ fullerene. Formation of magnetic domains was observed only in the oxygen‐free targets.
