Pages 537-540 | Published online: 22 Aug 2006

Abstract

It is known that fullerenes are hydrophobic compounds whereas carbohydrates are hydrophilic and hydrophobic. Therefore the aim of this article is to present unexpected complex of such different molecules (1). Interaction between C60 and different carbohydrates, which have opposite physical and chemical properties, offers the challenge for combined nanotechnologies creation and for finding out the devices for delivering of bioactive fullerenes.
