Abstract
Highly pure, isomerically mixed dimeric C70 fullerene oxide C140O was prepared in preparative amounts using conventional laboratory methods. Unknown trimeric C70 fullerene oxides C210On (n = 2, 3) were by‐products of the preparation. The prepared isomeric C140O mixture was characterized by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass‐ (MS‐), infra‐red‐ (IR‐), and ultraviolet‐visible‐ (UV‐vis‐) spectroscopies, as well as by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and thermo‐gravimetric analyses (TGA).
