Abstract

UV absorption spectra of the gaseous mixture of C₆₀ + Hg have been studied. Bands attributed to the C₆₀ molecule are found and fitted with Lorentzian lineshapes to derive the oscillator strengths of the observed transitions. New spectral feature arising from intermolecular interaction C₆₀ -Hg is evidently demonstrated.
