Porphyrin Dendrimers with a Fullerene C60 in the Dendritic Branches

&

Abstract

Porphyrin-dendrimers with a fullerene C60 in the dendritic branches were obtained by cyclization of dendritic bis-malonate derivatives at the carbon sphere. The bis-adducts of C60 were synthesized through a macrocyclization reaction with bismalonate derivatives in a double Bingel addition afforded the C s -symmetric cis-2 bis-adducts. The resulting porphyrin bis-methanofullerene derivatives were characterized by IR, 1H and 13C NMR, UV–VIS absorption, electrospray (ES) and/or MALDI-TOF mass spectrometries.
