Tiling Fullerene Surface with Heptagon and Octagon

Abstract

In this paper, some tiling of sphere, ellipsoid, cylinder, and torus as the most abundant shapes of fullerenes, which contain at least one heptagon or octagon are investigated. We classify such tilings and derive some results on the number of their polygons.
