Twenty‐four hour service at the Georgia southern university library

Abstract

The Henderson Library at Georgia Southern University has had twenty‐four hour a day service for eleven years. This article discusses the reasons why the library decided to extend service and how it has evolved over time. The ways by which overnight service has influenced library‐wide policies and cultures are also discussed. Some of the advantages of overnight service are presented, as well as some of the challenges.
