Comments on Potential Difference Across the Nuclear Membrane

Pages 353-354 | Published online: 07 Aug 2009

Abstract

Matzke and Matzke (1) provided important data on the electric structure of the nuclear periphery, and on interesting aspects relating to possible effects on gene transcription. These are working hypotheses likely to stimulate thinking. Yet, there is a flaw in the authors’ logic at a decisive point in their paper. It does not spoil the hypothesis as a whole, but may question some of its substantive conclusions.
