Abstract

An analytical study for the problem of large deflection in the structural composite components was applied in this work due to the lack of similar investigations. The large deflection response of the composite cantilever beam was investigated using analytical and experimental studies. The analytical formulation of this work was intended to be validated for composite laminated beams by comparing the results with those obtained in the literature. Several bending experiments were performed on isotropic Plexiglass (PG) and random short fiber with unsaturated polyester resin (RSM) cantilever beams, where, the obtained results were well-founded with the proposed analytical model.
