Abstract

The extreme problem of finding upper (kinematic) limit load of rigid-plastic fiber-reinforced spherical shallow shells and plates, which are circular in plan, is formulated and solved. The structures are clamped and have rigid insert. Two-layer shell model is used. The materials of components are rigid-perfectly plastic and asymmetric in tension and compression. The binder is isotropic or orthotropic. The structural model of composition takes into account two-dimensional stress state in the components. The piecewise-linear yield curves are constructed for radial-circumferential and spiral reinforcement. Comparisons results with other studies are given and influence of reinforcement parameters on limit load is investigated.
