Abstract
A mathematical model for estimating the damage accumulation in CFRP composite based on two laminate design variables: stacking sequence and fiber orientation, is presented. The laminates were tested to obtain the damage-cycle curves and then were fitted to obtain regression coefficients, which were correlated to the laminate design variables. The results show that the proposed model is in good agreement with those previously reported in the literature and also allows estimating the fatigue damage accumulation based on the information of the laminate design variables, therefore, no further experimental fatigue tests are required.
