Pages 75-80 | Published online: 22 Feb 2010

Abstract

As consumers, we are constantly inundated with dietary advice on what and what not to eat. From news outlets, health care professionals, food organizations, family and friends, the issue of diet is front and center. Who can forget the catchy saying, “You are what you eat, so you better eat right”? With the battle for health care reform a hot topic from Wall Street to Main Street, nutrition and diet have become important components, and adopting the Mediterranean diet can be a viable option. Information sources freely available on the Internet will be provided for an introductory exploration into this dietary option.
