Abstract

This study investigated the quality of the first 50 videos on cystic fibrosis (CF) in English and Portuguese using the DISCERN and JAMA scales. We selected 38 videos in Portuguese and 46 videos in English. In both languages, the origin of the video was from channels of people who have CF. The general quality of CF videos, assessed by the DISCERN scale, was mostly low; and according to the JAMA scale, the score was above average. Videos produced by “health professionals” received the highest ratings on both scales (DISCERN and JAMA), which could be useful for patients and healthcare professionals.
