Applying Feminist Pedagogy to Teaching Counselor Advocacy

ABSTRACT

Counselor educators must integrate advocacy, multiculturalism, and social justice within the counselor education curriculum. Experiential strategies with a strong pedagogical framework can address these concepts. In this article, the authors describe using an experiential activity based on Feminist pedagogy to integrate advocacy, social justice, and culture in counselor preparation. Specific information on Feminist pedagogy, steps for implementation, and implications for counselor education is provided.
