ABSTRACT
Herein we report the synthesis of new octa-phenoxy substituted metallophthalocyanines (4–7) (M = Co, Ni, Cu and Zn). The synthesized compounds were characterized using FT-IR, UV-vis, elemental analyses and MALDI-TOF techniques. Further, the basic requirements such as aggregation behavior, thermal stability and solubility in propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate (PGMEA) of compounds 4–7 were investigated for their usage as green color filter in LCD. Compounds 4–7 showed enough thermal stability and better solubility in PGMEA. Further, compounds 4–7 showed more than 90% of transmittance. Higher transmittance property along with thermal stability of compounds 4–7 promising as a green color filter in LCD.
