Characteristics of Cross-linkable PEDOT Composition with Vanadium Pentoxide for Hole Injection Material

Abstract

In this study, we have developed cross-linkable conductive polymer for solution process of OLED. The Poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) was cross-linked using Furfuryl Methacrylate (FM) and 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA). Synthesized cross-linked PEDOT:P(SS-HEA) and PEDOT:P(SS-FM) have better thermal stability, work function and water resistance to compare commercial PEDOT:PSS. In order to improve surface morphology, solvent (Butanol, IPA, DI water and ethanol) were optimized to PEDOT:P(SS-FM) and PEDOT:P(SS-HEA) respectively. Also V2O5 introduced into PEDOT:P(SS-X) to improve the charge injection properties. Electrical property, turn-on voltage of the synthesized cross-linked PEDOT with V2O5 was decreased to compare the device with commercial PEDOT:PSS about 1.01 V at 1 mA/cm2.
